    Pokemon Overlord Changelog

    v1.5 – BIG update

    hey everybody,

    the newly release update 1.5 finally brings back the save/load game feature, the ability to export and import save files, the ability to hover over enemy pokémon to see their details, “running shoes”, v-sync and fullscreen settings, and fixes to some nasty bugs, as detailed below.

    A lot of these improvements and bugfixes are here thanks to the amazing feedback I’ve been getting from you guys, which I can’t express enough how much I appreciate. While I was making this, I never once thought that someone would care enough to want to really understand how the game works, or like preserve or transfer their save file and things like that. This has been a really crazy experience for me and I promise to keep improving this game going forwards.

    Also, if you were experiencing the despicable INPUT LAG issue in previous versions, I’m happy to say it seems to be resolved!!!!! yay!!!!!! thanks to Scarly for helping me test the solution (if you boot the game and still have input lag, try changing the v-sync setting. If you still have it after that please let me know :sob:)

    So for the changes:

    • finally re-added a reworked, hopefully stable save/load feature for all modes except Battle Frontier (which I’ll add in a future update I promise).

    Additionally, due to previous issues with NPCs trapping the player under certain circumstances, I made it so loading the game always places the player in the hotel lobby. I don’t thing there are other instances where this can happen still in the game, but I added this as a failsafe. Hopefully this doesnt cause any issues <——- clueless

    • also new is the ability to EXPORT and IMPORT save files through the game itself. These features are in the OPTIONS menu. When IMPORTING a save file to the browser version, just drag the file to the game’s window! (also works on other versions….)

    !!!!!! ALWAYS EXPORT FIRST, MAKE BACKUPS EVERYBODY !!!!!!

    • added the ability to look at the enemy team pokémon during the pre-battle formation screen. this is frankly something that should have been in the game since launch, but honestly it didnt cross my mind once during the whole time I was making it. lol. thanks to everybody who gave me this feedback!
    • added “running shoes”! hold INFO to run!

    made it so if the player challenges an enemy with an empty party and pre-battle formation turned OFF, the pre-battle formation will still activate

    fixed an issue in which the Cilan brothers appeared during Grand Finals and would softlock the game if challenged;

    fixed an issue in which Zoroark’s “Dark Illusion” ability would trigger in a weird way, making their sprite invisible under certain circumstances

    I have some cool plans for additional content for this game. The “COMING SOON” mode in the main menu isnt a joke lol. I want to add gen VII to the game soon!

    v1.4 – more bugfixes

    hey everybody,

    as always, I’m very thankful to everybody who has been reporting bugs, this time I’m happy to tell you guys I’ve FINALLY managed to (hopefully) fix the issue preventing passive skills that check for adjacent units to trigger, yayyyyy (along with a few other things, which are:

    • FINALLY found the issue preventing passive skills that check for adjacent units (Cover, Wall, Sunny Day, Rain Dance, Charge, etc) to trigger and fixed it (HOPEFULLY);
    • fixed an issue in which Morty could trap the player during the cursed key event, if certain other NPC were around;
    • fixed an issue in which Wonder Guard’s effect would also apply to other allied Pokémon if they were targeted by the same attack as the ability user;
    • fixed an issue in which Pokémon summoned by abilities (such as Raticate’s Mischief, Honchcrow’s Syndicate, Crobat’s Colony, etc) would not leave the field after the battle ended in Battle Frontier mode;
    • fixed an issue in which an AI controlled Mew would use Transform on itself forever and softlock the game;
    • fixed a collision error that allowed the player to go off-bounds in a secret event

    I’ve received some reports about heavy input lag and long loading times in the Windows version. In this release, I’ve tried to fix this based on what I THINK might be causing this, but since I can’t replicate this issue on any of my devices its hard for me to this. If you’re experiencing this issue and would like to help me test it, please add me on Discord: .jab_lao

    I’m really happy with this version of the game and its thanks to everybody that helped me find and fix the bugs above and others. Having so many people play a game I’ve made is a dream come true, thank you everybody!

    v1.3 – bugfixes and improved AI

    hey everybody,

    thanks to everybody that has been helping me with detailed bug reports, I’ve been able to fix a bunch of bugs and unintended interactions that slipped by my testing. I’m deeply honored and so so thankful that people have been enjoying this game enough to take their time helping me improve it, thank you!!

    I’ve also managed to make the pokémon AI use their resources a bit more intelligently, so the game may have gotten a bit harder and the auto-battle a bit better (lol)

    some of the bugs I fixed that you might have encountered:

    • fixed the skills Cover, Wall and Guardian not triggering under certain conditions;
    • fixed the “meeting the Rockets then refusing to give the letter” fight crashing the game if triggered during grand finals;
    • fixed AI controlled pokémon occasionally using “real” moves without having the necessary AP instead of struggling;
    • fixed Leaf event looping if the player mashed the interact button;
    • fixed the Koga event eternally trapping the player in the hallway if they get cosmically unlucky;

    also, being an idiot as I am, and having been one for many years, in the previous version I basically bricked the Battle Frontier mode by adding an input hint incorrectly, this has been fixed in the current 1.3 update. lol

    I may never have found a lot of these if players didn’t report them, I’m grateful to everybody that helped!

    I realize it gets annoying having to download the game again and again, I hope the bugfixes get less frequent and that the next update focuses on new content!!

    see ya

    v1.2 – bugfixes and thank yous

    hey everybody,

    I just updated the game to version 1.2. some nasty bugs and overlooked things were fixed, and I added a new feature to disable a pokémon’s move by pressing “INFO” in the status menu (thanks to user Overmaster for the suggestion!!)

    I temporarily disabled the “Save” option from the menu (it was previously used to suspend a run so you could continue from where you left off later). It was causing a bunch of problems because I probably just build it wrong to be honest lol. I will remake this in a better way and re-add it to the game soon I promise

    the reception to this game has been amazing and I’m really happy that so many people are playing it and enjoying it. I’ll keep improving the game and I already have some cool ideas for new game modes and content in general.

    thanks!!

    v1.1 – Bug Fixes

    Thank you for the amazing response, I’m really happy so many people are playing this game. Thank you!

    I uploaded builds for all platforms fixing a nasty bug regarding Raticate’s ability “Mischief”. Sorry ;___;

    Let me know if you find any other bugs!!
